Ever-popular Rubber tree is a beautiful indoor plant with smooth, glossy burgundy leaves. Its common name is derived from its thick, leathery leaves that contain a rubber-like latex. Of the ficus plants, the rubber plant is the best for removing chemical toxins from the indoor environment.
Bright to moderate light without direct sun.
Water moderately in summer, do not overwater; in winter, keep drier in cool location; mist often, especially in warm location; in summer, feed lightly every two weeks with a balance houseplant fertilizer.
